He needs DLNA for his XboxOne to view content from my media server. Yes, using a Tomato router as a client is what I'm planning on implementing at my son's house (I still haven't gotten down there to try it yet - I have a spare router configured and ready to go once I install it at his place). So I was hoping someone over here would know the answer. Because of this excessively heavy moderation over there, the OpenVPN forums are pretty much useless IMHO. I would prefer to run only one VPN server however.ĭoes anyone know the up-to-date status of TAP on iOS devices? I would ask this question on the OpenVPN forums, but if anyone has been there, all posts and replies require moderator approval and if you ever get an answer to a question, the entire ordeal takes a week or two. Or I could run two VPN servers on my router - one TUN and one TAP. I would convert all clients over to TAP to accommodate this, however, I'm not sure if the iOS clients would be happy with that switch. However, I have one Linux client (a Tomato router actually) that would benefit from DLNA access to my media server, and since that uses broadcast, I would need TAP. I am currently using TUN quite happily with iOS, Windows and Linux clients. But it's sometimes difficult to get the real status of things via internet research, as you turn up lots of outdated info in searches. As best I've been able to research, only TUN is supported on iOS devices, not TAP.
